The Weekend Starts Today

There's something missing from the AI startup landscape. Joy.

Every company is automating work or replacing humans with agents. No one is building AI to make people's lives more fun.

We are.

Look at these names: OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Databricks, Cohere. The “General Electric”s of our generation. Corporate. Prosaic. Bleak.

If AI is going to make our work take half as long, maybe the most important question we should be asking is: What are we going to do with our newfound free time?

We’re building a new company focused on the fun that can be had with AI. It's called Weekend.

As a kid, I spent the entire week looking forward to the weekend. I think most people do.

At Weekend, our goal is simple: use AI to make people's lives more joyful. We make games you play with your friends and family—and we're starting with a device you already own: the television.

We've discovered that voice AI is the skeleton key that unlocks interactive television. For fifty years, the only input to a TV has been a janky remote. Voice removes that constraint. Meanwhile, generative AI completely collapses the cost of creating new content.

Together these shifts enable something new — interactive, personalized entertainment on the biggest screen in every home. Try it today on your Roku, Samsung, LG, or Fire TV.

Every other AI company is trying to make your workday more efficient. We're trying to make your Tuesday feel like Saturday.

The Weekend starts today.
